The purpose of Berean Baptist Church is best communicated through what we call ABCs of Berean.

A. Authenticity - We radically commit ourselves to authenticity because nothing chases away skeptics faster than hypocrisy.  As we are daily conformed to the image of Christ, authentic “Christ followers,” we will be most effective in bringing glory to God, and introducing others to the life-change that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. God's Word calls all individuals to be complete in their understanding of Jesus Christ and in their response to Him. As His church we must balance our ministry efforts to match this purpose.

B. We instruct and encourage the unchurched, dechurched, dead-churched and unmoved to experience a life of full devotion to Christ by offering ministries that call people to:

  • Believe in Christ, and take steps to;
  • Belong to His body, where they will;
  • Be trained in truth; and
  • Be strong in ministry.

C. As the Holy Spirit works in our lives through the 4 b's, we will continually grow in our ability to live as fully-devoted followers of Christ. We use five c's to capture what should increasingly define a life of full devotion:

  • Committed to God, His Word, His Cause, and His people;
  • Competent in doctrine and in doing;
  • Connected to others in the body of Christ;
  • Contributing to the work of Christ with our lives and resources;
  • Creative in the way we live and seek to do ministry.

In short, if the Berean community is known for its Authenticity, it will draw people into the process of balanced ministry characterized by the 4B's, which will then produce followers of Christ whose lives are increasingly described by the 5C's.  If we have been faithful to diligently apply the ABC’s then we are sure that we can experience the blessings of:

·   Celebrating God's goodness through authentic worship;

·   Demonstrating God's love through tangible ministry;

·   Communicating God's Word through personal and corporate evangelism world-wide;

·   Incorporating God's family through the fellowship of the believers;

·   Educating God's people with the truths of scripture through biblical discipleship and counseling.

Our name sake the church of Berea mentioned in Acts 17:11 were considered “more noble, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” This has long been the commitment of Berean Baptist Church.  You can be assured that your fellowship within this community will be biblically ground, rich in the word of God.
